Auto
Injuries , Whiplash, Head Trauma : Some Surprising Discoveries to Ease Your Pain
The average person in our society gets in one auto accident every five years. They recover from most of these quickly. However , sometimes they have very severe pain and dysfunction that can continue for many years. Often ,chiropractic care can greatly relieve some of this pain. Some patients have difficult pain problems that persist, and that is where we come in.
Many years ago I noticed some unusual patterns in some of my whiplash type injury patients. When I started examining patients I found that these patterns were quite common. Often , there are areas of the intestinal tract (stomach) that have been injured in the accident. These often perpetuate the problems in the neck and back, even though the patient may have no stomach pain! This is especially common if the patient has sciatica (pain down the leg.) Sometimes the patient has a twisting in the sacroileac joint in the lower back which is affecting their neck. This may be aggravating their neck pain, even though they have no lower back pain.
Often the muscles at the base of the skull are in spasm. This can actually pull the skull out of alignment with the top part of the neck, giving rise to headaches, migraines, dizziness, visual problems, neck pain, pain down the arm, difficulty concentrating, spaciness, balance problems, difficulty sleeping, etc. etc. It is often commonly involved in lower back pain. It is very easy to check for tender spots at the back of the head and neck to see if this problem is present .
It is our experience that when we gently correct these problems , many patients get rapid relief from their symptoms, even years after the accident. Even when other treatments have stopped helping them. We also have developed very advanced techniques to treat the mental and emotional effects of head injury trauma, so click here to see that page.
